Hello again, everyone. This one is a journey about me running an adjustment to Odoo Accounting Report and then exploring a little bit with Cost of Goods Sold(COGS)

We can access these reports on the Reporting Navbar in Accounting Module and select the PDF reports that we want, and Odoo will auto-generate the value and PDF based on the data that we had.

In this case, we will adjust the reports to meet the standard of Indonesia Accounting, as shown below.

First, we need to work on the Configuration -> Account Reports, and to view it better, we can group it by Parent Report. Here below are the finished adjustment for the reporting standard.

Below are some of the screenshots that the changes we change.

Here I will explain in general about each field that needs to be filled.

  • Report Name: This is the name of the financial report that will appear in the financial report
  • Sequence: This is the order of the financial reports that will appear in the report
  • Sign of Reports: Signs in reports that can be reversed from negative to positive or vice versa. In this section, we can adjust it according to our needs. For profit, we usually use Reverse.
  • Parent: This is a parent report in the structure of financial statements.
  • Type: This is a type of report. The View is a display of name only without value. Account Type is the detailed content from the information to the transaction details.
  • Financial Report Style: This is the styling of the report.
  • Display Details: This is a display setting of financial statements. Display children with hierarchy is a display up to the transaction level in detail. With No Detail only shows the value of that part of the report.
  • Account Type: is a component of accounts that will be included in the calculation of financial statements.

Here are the screenshoots of the final Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss

As we can see now, the balance sheet and profit & loss structure are the same as the photo given at the start of the article.

For the COGS case from the video given to me, it was actually not having any transaction, and the video also shares that the app needs an extra module actually to count the total of COGS. Below is how the cost is totaled from each material. I talk more about the detail and some findings that I found in my youtube video.

I hope this article helps anyone reading this, and thank you for reading this. See ya on another episode of me and Odoo 12!!
